The data set of Parking Monitoring offers you exact, real-time information on the parking in and out events of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. In addition to the time, duration and GPS location of parking events, this API also informs you about the approximate size of the vehicle.

2. Wide coverage

The transmitted data is relevant for a wide variety of evaluations & analyses regarding parking overview, parking space frequency and parking duration. The data product can also be used for public or commercial parking space tracking and management as well as for fleets with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Of course, the large connected Mercedes-Benz vehicle fleet offers an enhancive base for covering many regions worldwide.

Data is always transferred anonymized and only from vehicles for which there is a consent from the vehicle owner.

  • Park-in events: a car parks when it turns off the engine and stops for more than 2 minutes

  • Park-out events: a car drives off after being parked for more than 15 minutes

  • Detection of free/occupied parking space through operating the ignition switch for park-in & park-our events

Is the data displayed in real-time?

Near real-time, hazard warnings are displayed with a latency below 1 second. The data is transmitted from the vehicle to our backend and from the backend to the dashboard.

Are we talking about validated data?

No, the Parking Monitoring product offers anonymized raw data in real-time. This allows you to do your validations with a large data set. In case you would like to receive validated data including e.g. parking durations, a parking space register etc. get in contact with our business team.

Are you offering historical data?

Not in the Parking Monitoring product, but we offer analyzed Parking data based on historical data within our Parking Analytics Product. For more details get in contact with our business team.

Is it possible to get a trial version / sample of the data?

Yes, it is possible to get sample data for every data product. Please get in touch with our business team to get the sample data.

Which data sources contains the data of this product?

All data is coming from the Mercedes-Benz customer fleet (Passenger Car and Van). Data will be provided if the purpose of the data usage fits with the Mercedes-Benz Data Vision to create with data a greater good.

How large is your fleet / vehicle coverage in a specific country/city?

Due to antitrust law and data protection, we cannot share exact figures of vehicles driving around. We could offer you to check the numbers of data points in a defined period.

Do you have restrictions in the selection of your customers?
